Beaches on Mathraki Island
Mathraki Island is famous for its 2 kilometres long ribbon of sandy beach, with intermittent rock shade, stretching the length of the east side of the island. On the west side, a short walk from the Kato Mathraki church leads to different and varied beaches opposite the satellite island of Trachea.
To your left is a small jetty and a long stone beach with the rocks extending in a spectacular vista far into the sea. To your right is the large sheltered curving bay of Fiki. You can scramble down to this by different paths. The island is dotted with other inlets accessible from land without need of a boat.
